As Nicola Formichetti unveils his first womenswear collection for Mugler, Autumn/Winter 2011/12, he will share his debut with global viewers simultaneously through a real-time, uncensored, multi-camera live stream. The stream can be experienced live on Wednesday 2nd March at starting at 9pm (CET)/3pm (EST) on the brand’s Facebook page.
Prior to the show’s start, the Mugler live stream will feature six camera vantage points, all appearing on one split screen. The cameras, roving and moving throughout the space, will capture an authenticity for the viewer including shots of the venue, show arrivals and backstage preparation. Broadcast in real time, this uncensored, unedited stream will provide for the viewer a comprehensive pre-show reality, including even the mundanities.
As the show commences the screen will reduce to a single view to bring the focus to the runway. Unlike traditional runway live streams, this broadcast will not provide a single fixed view, giving the audience an overarching experience of the event. Inspired by the style of shooting a live concert, multiple cameras will capture the collection at various angles, servicing the viewer a rotating perspective throughout the show.
As friend and frequent collaborator of Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga will again act as Musical Director of the runway show, as she did for Mugler Men’s show in January. A new, never before heard track by the artist will be featured during the show and captured by the stream.
