CQC’S DAY OF THE DEAD 2011 / ONLINE SHOPPING AT OKI-NI / BERNHARD WILLHELM x CAMPER TOGETHER SKULL BOOTS

Not normally one to hide in the shadows, Belgian design extrovert Bernhard Willhelm has, in this instance, embraced a darkly-hedonistic aesthetic to conceive this boot for his ever-popular collaboration with Spanish lifestyle-enthusiasts, Camper.

This heavy boot from Bernhard Willhelm A/W 2011/12 collection is crafted from thick and coarsely-grained premium leather. Its layered toe-cap and heel sections create a chunky silhouette which provides the balance necessary to accommodate the piece’s main feature. The boot has a series of six buckled straps, each of which are decorated with a large and detailed skull-and-crossbones fastener, embracing the piece’s dark and macabre theme. It’s finished with a chunky zipper down the inner-ankle, allowing it to be taken on and off easily, and a thick rubber sole, in distinctive Bernhard Willhelm style.
