DANSK – the fashion magazine – released its 24th issue, Autumn/Winter 2010, on 13 August 2010. Shot by Henrik Bülow, Danish top model Caroline Brasch Nielsen covers the issue, which features interviews with newly crowned couturiers at Valentino, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, as well as fashion’s master of rock ‘n’ roll tailoring, Todd Lynn, and the menswear prodigy, James Long.

Details:
»We’re dealing with a sense of New Modesty: a reaction to the loudness and flashiness of previous seasons – an expression which no longer seems to be relevant. This issue is about reintroducing an air of the powerful understatement, the intensity of silence and the beauty of the unspoiled,« said Editors-in-Chief, Uffe Buchard and Kim Grenaa. Looking at different manifestations of modesty in fashion, DANSK meets two of fashion’s modest few when Todd Lynn talks thank-you notes, dressing music royalty and staying true to your beliefs, while James Long discusses real menswear, male top models and what it’s like to always be called ›nice‹. Illustrating the reach of the new modesty, DANSK features an editorial devoted exclusively to Valentino haute couture, and speaks to Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli about the ambiguous concept of modesty in couture.

Apart from the issue’s 130 pages of editorial featuring the likes of Missy Rayder, Alana Zimmer, Charlotte di Calypso & Matvey Lykov, Ming Xi, Katie Fogarty, Charlie France and Mathias Lauridsen, DANSK #24 includes interviews with Hakaan, The Only Son, and nail genius Sophy Robson as well as features on the new anti-word fashion generation, and the new dawn of Nordic menswear designers.
